flamingos

Lake Nakuru is famously known as the “Pink Lake” because of the thousands of flamingos that often gather along its shores, creating a spectacular pink ribbon around the water. Beyond flamingos, the park is a birdwatcher’s paradise with over 400 recorded species, including pelicans, storks, fish eagles, and kingfishers.

For wildlife lovers, Lake Nakuru offers much more than birdlife. The park is a stronghold for both black and white rhinos, and sightings are common. Visitors can also expect to see lions, leopards (with some luck), buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, baboons, and hippos wallowing in the lake’s inlets.

The park’s diverse habitats, ranging from open grasslands and wooded areas to rocky cliffs and acacia forests, create dramatic backdrops for photography and game drives. Scenic spots such as Baboon Cliff and Lion Hill offer panoramic views of the lake and surrounding landscapes.

This safari is ideal for those who want a quick yet rewarding experience that combines birdwatching, big game viewing, and stunning scenery. It’s a perfect getaway for couples, families, and groups looking for a memorable wildlife adventure close to Nairobi.
